1984 - nothing to do with George Orwell

So long ago.....I started to learn to fly with Dave Lewis, down by Dartford. After the very first flight, I knew that one day I would have my own plane.

Thanks to my Mum for these pics., I totally forget she had her camera that day.

Here's me, looking untenably young, and still with a full head of hair, and no grey in sight! Spot the appropriate flight gear and motorbike skid-lid. Intercoms? What are they for then? Can't you just shout?
Dave Lewis pointed out to me that the flat, green stuff was immediately under the plane at the start of the flight, and should be again at the end.

There are still plenty of Pegasus XL's flying today.

OK, so clearly I had a suit.....so why didn't I wear it!

My apologies for the "Village People" look - I did actually own a motorbike at that point!

Much to my surprise, my Mum was up for a ride from the word go. She's looking forward to the Kiss being finished now, so she can have another ride - this time, she'll be aged 72!

She does look fetching, doesn't she?

That's my first-born, Steven, in my arms. He's an 18 year-old now. Doesn't time fly?

In fact, "Time flies like an arrow", which is quite strange when you consider that: "Fruit-flies like a banana" ;-D

Sorry - lost the plot again there.

"Make sure I'm strapped in tight, won't you?"
"Are you sure it's safe?"
