An Alternative Round Britain Rally

This year's official Round Britain Rally looks as if it may be cancelled due to lack of interest, but why is this?

Well, the RBR is a competitive event, with intensive flying and no GPS allowed. Many people have said they would love to do the kind of journey's around Great Britain that are undertaken on the RBR, but do not like the competitive element, nor the time pressures the event creates.

I am one of those people, so have decided to organise an alternative event for 2004, with a working title of NOT The Round Britain Rally! The idea is to spend a week travelling around the Great Britain (routes and overnight venues to be decided), finishing at the Isle of Wight to coincide with the Wight Party (aka Spamfield) in 2004.

At this stage, I am gauging interest. If you fancy the idea, why not register for the event? I would also welcome all feedback on format, route and venues.

Watch this space for more information.
